Part-time Farm Crew 

$10-11 an hour, depending on experience. The 5-month contract/Part-time (August 1- December 30 ,2017) position is responsible for regular maintenance of the project facility and land, farm production related activities, and equipment maintenance. Maintenance activities could include construction and maintenance of greenhouses, farm structures, and fencing; irrigation
management and repair, maintaining property grounds, and orienting visitors to the site. Farm duties could include prepping fields for planting, starting seeds, watering and maintaining plants, managing and weeding production plots, harvesting fruits and vegetables, washing and packing fruits and vegetables, coordinating shipments with production manager, and operating a variety of on-farm machinery.

Full-time Farm Assistant 

Come be part of an exciting team in small-scale farming! $10 - $13/hr depending on experience. The 5-month contract/Full-time (August 1- December 30, 2017) Farm Assistant will work closely with our Farm Manager to maintain and grow on the Sprouting Farms site. Position is responsible for regular maintenance of the project facility and land, farm production related activities, and equipment maintenance. Full-time, 5-month contract to start, no benefits, contract may be extended.

Sprouting Farms Education Coordinator

The Robert C. Byrd Institute for Advanced Flexible Manufacturing (RCBI), West Virginia’s Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center is accepting resumes for an Education and Outreach Coordinator for the Sprouting Farms project.

Duties: The successful candidate will join a highly motivated, statewide team to oversee the Apprenticeship, Incubator, and Mentor Farms programs of Sprouting Farms. The Education Director is responsible for developing, managing, and monitoring training and education plans for apprentices, coordinating the education programming with partners, land and resource access for apprentices, facilitating relationships and coordinating mentor farms, and performing outreach about the program and training opportunities to the community. The Education Director will also coordinate programing with project partners and service providers and work with the Production Manager to communicate and help with production planning for the participants. They will be responsible to work with project partners to assemble and tailor apprenticeship curriculum, schedule courses and perform other duties as assigned. 
Location: Position will be housed in southern WV at the Sprouting Farms site. The farm site is rustic and working conditions may include performing farm related activities, working in unconditioned office space, implementing programming in a barn loft, and traveling to mentor farms across the Greenbrier Valley.

Sprouting Farms AmeriCorps Member

 Come join the team and work with our Education Program and staff as the AmeriCorps member on-site at Sprouting Farms. 

This position is responsible for working with the Education Coordinator to strengthen community education programs.  Activities could include working with volunteers, establishing relationships with local schools and community groups, assisting with events and outreach, assisting farm manager in maintaining and facilitating demonstration farm, along with participating in AmeriCorps training and service days.    Position begins September 2017.
